5th Grade Predictions

I think 5th grade will be fun because you will get more advantages like safety patrol and selling lollipops. If you are in the Aloha room, you get to do the Heart to Heart thing. Fifth graders also get to be in the B.E.S.T. club. It will be fun to have all the kids looking up to you too. It might be hard trying to figure out what instrument to play and fun to go to Eagle Bluff. The work will be harder and we will be the smartest kids in school. That's what 5th grade will be like.

State Fair Projects

Hi, I'm BM1018 and we're doing a project where we pick a state and figure out interesting things about it like state flower, bird, animal, and who's famous from that state.

We got to choose which project we wanted to do. Such as making a piece of clothing with symbols that represent the state.

The most popular project done was "My State Takes the Cake." It's where you make a cake in the shape of your state then decorate it with things like rivers, lakes, mountains, cities, and other areas of interest.

Choice Novel Projects

Miss H's World Famous Class is doing a choice novel project. It's when we do all sorts of projects on a book we've read in the past 30 days. We have the choices of the poster, character quilt, CSI, design a CD, reality TV, and much more! We all did great!

The View From Saturday by SD917

This amazing book was written by E.L. Konigsburg. It tells about four children: Noah - who happened to be best man at Ethan and Nadia's grandparents' wedding; Ethan - the silent one who likes Nadia; Nadia - the red headed turtle loving girl who has a genius dog; and Julian - the wierdest person on the bus. Julian invites Noah, Nadia, and Ethan to a tea party. Mrs. Olinski is thier teacher. Shewas in an automobile accident so she is a paraplegic. She is the one sho started everything.

Arbor Day

It was Arbor day last Friday, April 24th. We went on a field trip downtown. When we were downtown there was food, stands, and scavenger hunt. There scavenger hunt was where you had to find green slips on the trees. For food there was hot dogs, corn on the cob, chips, and pop. It was the best field trip yet.

Arbor Day was so fun and we got delicious hot dogs and buttered corn on the cob with soda. They had stations you could go to and some of them had stuff for you. One gave you a energy saving light bulb and another gave you part of a small tree. Then they had awards for the poster contest. The grand prize was your art gets to be in a calendar. Mayor Brade handed them out to the winners. Then my group went to look for Smokey the Bear. At the end of the day we got trees and went home.

How to Eat Fried Worms by ER1212

In class we just finished a book called How to Eat Fried Worms. This book is about a boy named Billy who makes a bet with his friend Joe that he can eat 15 worms in 15 days for 50 bucks. to buy a minibike. Then guess what he does? During the he gets tricked by eating fake worms made out of beans and at a baseball game he gets home late and stuffed so he won't be hungry enough to eat the worms! Pretty sneaky huh?

This book teaches you to never give up, not eat worms, and bets are bad. You should read this book because I liked it all and you should too.

Morning Run

You know some kids just like to be lazy and never want to be active. They jsut want to stay home and watch tv and play video games all day long. So that's why there is a morning run so kids can be strong and stay healthy and get active. So now you never have to stay in and be lazy and eat junk food all the time. Wake early, eat some healthy food and go straight to the morning run. Do four or three laps.

The morning run is a run that is supposed to help us with a phy. ed that we do every year. If you run 2 laps every day than you get a blue star award at the end of the year. If you run 3+ laps every day than you get a gold star award at the end of the year. Sometimes you can get over 4 laps but that is usually not for the whole year. And if you did 0 laps I don't think you get anything! I think the mile run is real fun because I like to run.
