Reading is great! Especially our story for this week. It's called Amelia and Eleanor Go for a Ride. Amelia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt are best friends in the story. Amelia is a pilot and Eleanor is President Roosevelt's wife.
The Beginning of the story starts like this - Eleanor invites Amelia over for dinner so they both get ready for dinner. Amelia puts on a white gown. At the dinner table Eleanor gives Amelia a gift of a scarf just like hers. After that the guests start asking her questions about flying. Amelia's eyes sparkled at one of the questions. She answered why don't we take a short flight tonight. So they did.
Eleanor's secret service agents tried to stop her from going. But that didn't stop her. She said, "Amelia is a good pilot so let's give it a shot." When they got back reporters were asking so many questions to Eleanor. Before they went back inside they took a drive in the car and then they had cake.
