St Patrick's Day
by SD128

It is St Patrick's Day and Miss O'Hennes gives us green paper and clover cutouts. She wants us to write our name the way the Irish would so we put the letter "O" in front of our last name. We give the shamrocks with our Irish names to Miss O'Hennes.

After math we saw names all over the place! The leprechauns had visited. We got to look for our hidden shamrocks. The most exciting one was hidden in the mouth of Pete the Perch!

St Patrick's Day

On St Patrick's Day, we watched a video about how St. Patrick's day began. It is because of Patrick, a guy who combined church traditions with Irish customs, that we have St Patrick's Day.

Later we did a craft where we had a stencil and and cut out a big clover and put it on a different shade of green paper.

The last thing we did was a Personal Best Drawing. I know it doesn't tie in but that's what we did. A Personal Best is something you get when you do something good. We put our name on it, put it in a bucket and if Miss H draws your name out of it you get a prize. The best prize was a box of Cheez-its.
